This fantastic selection of our native Yucca aloifolia features dramatic dark green leaves edged with a rich creamy-white margin. This trunk-forming yucca can reach a height of up to 7 feet and is crowned with 2-foot spikes of white bell-shaped flowers in early summer. For well-drained exposures and full sun in Zone 6 to 9. A rarely offered gem.

Yucca 'Bright Edge' displays narrow dark green leaves edged with a bright gold margin. Of a more compact nature than the filamentosa types, 'Bright Edge' works well in smaller perennial borders and rock gardens. Three foot flower stems hold masses of white bell-shaped flowers in midsummer. Grows 5 feet to 6 feet tall. Hardy in Zone 5 to 9.

Probably the most dramatic of the variegated yucca, this awesome selection was brought back from Japan by Paul Aden of Hosta fame. 'Color Guard' produces lance-shaped leaves that are bright gold, edged with a green margin. It holds color better than the other medio variegated types. In midsummer the 4 foot clumps send up 5 to 6 feet stalks which support dozens of white bell-shaped flowers. Add pizzazz to your summer perennial border! Requires well drained soils in full sun to light shade. Hardy in Zone 5 to 10.

This popular variety has a yellow leaf center which is brightest in the spring and autumn. Its lance-shaped foliage is narrower than 'Color Guard' and is held more upright. Imposing 6- foot flower stems tower over the 4 foot clump of foliage in midsummer. Great for adding dramatic interest to the garden. Hardy in Zone 5 to 9.

This form of Yucca filamentosa was selected by Tom Foley for its extreme amount of filaments along the edges of the blue-green sword-like leaves. The 18 inches tall by 3 feet wide clump is topped by spikes of white, bell-shaped flowers in summer. Hardy in Zone 5 to 9. (Zone 4 with protection).

Yucca 'Lone Star' is a green-leafed selection of Yucca 'Tiny Star'. This smashing selection features a dramatic, architectural form. Tony Avent comments "unquestionably the best green yucca in our extensive collection". To 4-feet by 4-feet in four years, the clumps are comprised of dozens to 3 1/2-inch wide leaves topped in late summer with 3-feet tall spikes carrying white bell-shaped flowers. This very slow growing form of Yucca gloriosa has creamy-yellow leaves edged with a narrow dark green margin. It was originally introduced into western horticulture by plant explorer Barry Yinger in the 1970's from Japan while he was collecting for the Brookside Plant introduction program. A nice specimen plant for the rock garden. 'Tiny Star' requires full sun and well-drained soils in zone 7 to 10. Grows to 18 inches tall by 36 inches wide, no known specimens have flowered to date in the United States.

This fantastic selection of Yucca gloriosa features thick, blue-green leaves with a wide gold margin. In summer, the margin brightens to a rich cream. In time the 2 to 3 feet wide clump will form a trunk to 4 feet tall. A great specimen plant for the sunny border. Hardy in Zone 6b to 10.

(Syn Yucca rostrata var linearis) This Texas and Northern Mexico native features long narrow pale-green leaves on a trunk to 5 feet tall. A newly classified species uncommon to the trade. Hardy in Zone 7 to 10.

(Yucca harrimaniae ssp harrimaniae) This cute little rock garden yucca hails from the Utah-Colorado border. This dwarf form of Yucca harrimaniae was given species status status in 1998. Ideal for full sun in well-drained soil. Yucca nana will form a 12 inch by 12 inch clump over time. Its very narrow gray-green leaves are covered in white filaments. White bell-shaped flowers top the clump in summer. Hardy in Zone 5 (4) to 7.

The long narrow 4-ft. long blue-green leaves arches gracefully from the tall trunk which can grow up to 3 feet over time. Beautiful clumps of 4- to 5-foot tall spikes of large white bell-shaped flowers bloom in the fall. For full to partial sun in zones 6b to 10. Great specimen plant for the back of the perennial garden.

This selection of Yucca recurvifolia by Sean Hogan of Cistus Nursery features soft, weeping leaves with a yellow center and a gray-green margin. With maturity it will form a trunk with spikes of large white bell-shped flowers in mid summer. Grows to 4 feet to 8 feet tall. Hardy in Zone in 6b to 9.

Yucca rostrata 'Sapphire Skies'

The stunning powdery-blue foliage of 'Sapphire Skies' is one of the hardiest of all trunk-forming yuccas. It grows to 4-feet tall x 3-feet wide in full sun and well-drained soil. The thin pointed blades, relatively short and flexible, form a luminous specimen plant that would be well suited for the dry garden. Spectacular spires of ivory flowers bloom in summer. Hardy in zone 5b to 10.

NEW! Yucca elephantippes 'Silver Star' features silver-gray leaves with a dark green edge. White flowers bloom early summer to late fall. For full sun to light shade in zones 9b to 13. Can tolerate dry for an extended time to constantly moist in well-drained soil. Grows up to 5 feet tall. The flowers of this particular yucca have been known to be used raw in salads or cooked in an omelette-style dish. This does well in container inside or outside to add to the patio decor.
